Einstein

A real horse who had a real troubled past named Einstein tells the story of so many  horses in this  based on true events novel. When MC met Einstein in 2009 his true to life owner Wendy was about at the end of her rope and did not know what to do for him. Einstein absolutely did not want anybody touching his back or his head or even looking at him. Wendy and Einstein were perfect character inspirations for this story MC wanted to tell about relativity of many things but mostly love.

Steve at Wright Ranch use for Einstein_e

Steve Wright-
"A Wright way in an often wrong world"

There are no words for Steve that can describe his specialness. This is why MC can only describe him by letting you be with him. Steve's connection with horses has been multidimensionally tremendous especially with "troubled" horses. Because he cares so deeply about horses comfort his work with transforming troubled horses has been truly magical. MC is incredibly honored to have worked with and witnessed Steve. And to be able to capture his gift in this story about a horse that needed physical understanding in order to be the best he could be.

Nicol&Pete
on the right

Nicol is highly intuitive about the body of the horse she rides and is dedicated to helping the horse out. Although Nicol is a very busy trainer (horse teacher) she is also an equine body worker and integrates it into her training program. Nicol received education and certification from Dr. Inman and spent countless hours with MC working together on horses. Nicol is AMAZING in real life! And her peaceful and powerful connection with horses is perfect for this story about a horse who just needed to be understood and believed in.

Lynn and Romipen

Romi n Lynn on grass hires.jpg

Lynn Strauman contacted MC in 2007 to help her with a mare that she was having some trouble with. Lynn and her partner at the time Ann would soon rely heavily on MC's musculoskeletal release work and hired her for many years to work on many very special Gypsy horses. Lynn is a true to life incredibly colorful character and her journey with Gypsy horses is so spiritually special, MC had to capture a bit of it and hopes the broader audience enjoys meeting her and Romipen.

Poppy Phillips-
equine communicator/ herbalist

Poppy and MC have been equine therapist in the same region, Northern California since early 2000. In very different ways but complimentary to each other as both are serving the horses with compassion. MC and Poppy see each other rarely and when they do there is a deep understanding that we are physically, mentally, and spiritually soldiers for the horse and very busy with that. I have heard through the many years from the equine community how much they and their horses love Poppy, and her gift definitely has a very special place in this novel. True to life she spoke to Einstein and true to life she makes a brief yet profound presence in this novel dedicated to listening and understanding the horse.

MC- the Author

"Mary Catherine, aka MC" in 2000 decided to give herself to a higher purpose and was guided to working with horses bodies. Being compassionate and athletic MC also understood the sense in horses benefiting from muscle work. It was during that time she researched equine body work and found Equinology. After quite a bit of studying, learning, certification and hard work MC"s equine body work practice flourished. Since that time, MC's broad journey with horses has taught her lessons about life she never know about without touching the flesh of so many horses. Her real-life experiences taught her the most and that is what manifested the notion of this novel. MC hopes you enjoy the journey with Einstein!

MC has had a lot of stars on her journey with horses but without a doubt about it and in a dramatic, fantastical, and profound way Dr. Bill Inman has been her Northern Star! As for any horse MC has been positively impactful with since 2005 great credit goes to the amazing animal super hero, Dr. Bill Inman. That is why this book about a horse that Dr. Inman dramatically helped because of his teachings is dedicated to him. Mary Catherine hopes you enjoy this fiction depiction about the real-life experiences of horse flesh and bones.

Moses Gonzales Sr (1)_edited_edited_edit

Moses Gonzales Sr.- farrier extraordinary-er

Moses Gonzales Sr. is a farrier that was located in the northern California region and by the grace of God, MC met him in 2002 on her journey understanding horses physical predicaments. Moses Sr. spent countless hours with MC working through many cases of imbalanced hooved horses that were physically challenged in a multitude of ways. Miraculously MC would witness horses that could not do this or that and or act out dangerously to completely turning around physically and mentally with the four hooved balanced approach from Moses. Einstein is just one of many thousand horses that this great farrier helped in real life. MC is incredibly grateful for his knowledge and friendship and she is very honored to share Moses with you in this true to life story.

Robert Hunter DVM

MC met Dr. Hunter at Carbondale farms in Ione California in 2000. At that time MC was working for the equine facility not as a body worker but as a "do it all" farm hand working with about forty horses of all ages and breeds. Many show horses and famous bloodlines such as the one and only "Tell Star". The meeting between Dr. Bob and MC would produce a very interesting journey together totally and entirely based on a special connection with horses. Dr Bob Hunter is an incredible equine veterinarian and a true to life great character for the part whom MC is so very grateful for.

Jim Garfinkel DVM

MC lived in Amador county and worked with many horses at “At Farm Veterinary Clinic” including a couple of his horses. From approximately 2003-2010, MC had a travel route that included the Plymouth area and used the clinic as a location in that area for people to hall their horses to meet her. True to life and just about exactly as happens in the novel, Dr. Jim Garfinkel and his incredibly humble "teamwork" nature would be pivotal for the horse in this story and the real Einstein. MC also has experienced Dr. Garfinkel working in the field and he’s amazing with the horses! MC is very lucky to know the kind hearted and intelligent veterinarian who is fully invested the well-being of horses. Dr. Garfinkel has a unique blend about him, he has been a competition cutting rider and he is “holistic” minded. He became educated in acupuncture and has offered it in his practice for many years now. Dr. Garfinkel also has a high level of comprehension regarding the needs of horses to have proper hoof support to be the best that they can be. Fun note: Jessie Garfinkel his daughter at the time of the true to life event in the novel was about five years old. Jessie was in the barn during the scene in the novel and now in 2025 she herself is an established equine body worker in the Northern California region. Character names?

The name Sara- The young girl Sara was inspired by MC's very good friends daughter named Sara. Dr. Al Zarembski was a chiropractor in midtown Sacramento who became a friend and savior for MC when she suffered an unexpected muscle injury/ illness in 2010. It was his friendship, comradery and the lifesaving work he did for MC's body to help her survive and she will forever be grateful for him. By 2011 when she broke ground on this novel MC had become friends with Dr. Al's wife Laura and his precious daughter Sara. When thinking about the character MC needed a young but special girl and Sara Zarembski helped MC get that character right! Also, in recognition of Sara Curtis. Sara owned the California Cowgirls at the time of the true to life drill team event that inspired the tear-jerking conclusion of the story.

Daniel- Daniel was a real boy approximately 5 years old who blew MC away in 2007 at Wright Ranch in Ione California one spring day. MC was working with a horse in the very large barn just as described in the novel and everyone was at the arena watching Steve work with a horse. Except for Daniel, unbelievably he stayed and watch MC work to reduce muscle spasm and connected fears with a very traumatized young horse. Daniel asked intelligent questions about what MC was doing and he processed the information that MC gave him and then said...."So he's a good boy, he's just all squirrely twirling inside" as he twirled his fingers over his head. MC dropped her jaw and looked at him. There was no wall between his energetic system and the horses he saw truthfully that the horses energetic matrix was trapped and in chaos. Daniel has what they call Asperger's or on the autism spectrum and these individuals are highly in tune with energetic reality's. It was so beautiful to hear him say what he said to MC she just had to find a special place for Daniel in this novel.
